Blog #6: Kitchen Tips & Tricks
In today’s fast paced world, finding ways to save time
in the kitchen can make a huge difference in our daily lives. To be as efficient
as possible, home cooks need to know the ins and outs of kitchen hacks, so you
can get delicious meals on the table in no time. These tips and tricks will
save you time whether it is just a busy work week, or just to make your daily cooking
tasks easier on yourself. Today, we will get into sharing three of the best
time saving shortcuts that help me make cooking enjoyable and easy.
Kitchen Hack #1: Pre-Chop and Prep Ingredients in
Advance
One of the best ways to save time in the kitchen is to
pre-chop ingredients in advance. For example, cutting up your vegetables,
marinating meat, and portioning out ingredients ahead of time. This way, when
you go to cook your meal for the day everything is ready to go and you just
have to pull it out of the fridge or freezer.
*My favorite hack is mincing fresh garlic ahead of
time and freezing it so it is ready to go whenever I need it.
Kitchen Hack #2: One Pan Dinners
When it comes to cooking, do you ever dread the dishes
that follow this? I sure do. An easy way to fix this is incorporating one pan
meals into your dinner rotation. This will require minimal clean up and allow
you to cook everything in a single pot or sheet pan. Try some recipes here from Pinterest! Planning out these meals in advance will help when it comes to
grocery shopping and prepping ingredients also!
Kitchen Hack #3: Invest in Quality Kitchen Gadgets
By investing in quality gadgets, your time spent in
the kitchen is better used. Items such as a Kitchen Aid mixer, a crockpot, food
processor, or instant pot can drastically change the amount of time you spend preparing
meals. I love to use my Kitchen Aid mixer for all sorts of things to make my
cooking life easier, such as shredding chicken, or mixing ingredients in a
breeze. Cooking with a crockpot is also super helpful, as you can just dump the
ingredients in and go about your day and dinner is ready in hours with minimal
effort.
There are many helpful tips and tricks out there that
can help you make life easier in the kitchen as a home cook, and incorporating some
of these ideas into your daily routine can help make a difference in how you
approach meal preparation. By prepping in advance, planning your meals out, and
using helpful kitchen gadgets, you can save time and enjoy stress free meals
every day! Try out these tip and tricks and let me know how they help you and
your family!

Hi Breanna! Mincing garlic is one of the most time consuming and annoying processes in cooking so I thought these tips were really helpful. I am someone who is trying to get into cooking more. I have no experience with cooking aside from watching and helping my mom with certain dishes so this provided a lot of insight on what might make it easier as a young adult trying to figure out what works for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm not too gifted in the kitchen but I still learned something! good job!
